Bus Service: The Southside bus comes to the Adriance Memorial Library at 18 Bancroft Road every hour at roughly 35 minutes past the hour. From downtown, the Southside bus can be boarded at Soldiers Fountain at Montgomery and Market Streets. The bus runs Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:45 PM and on Saturday from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM (so the last stop at Bancroft Road is at 2:35 on Saturday). There is no bus service on Sunday.

From 93 Market Street:

1. Proceed to Montgomery Street (the intersection at the fountain).
2. Turn left onto Montgomery Street and proceed to the stop light. Proceed through the light (Montgomery Street now becomes Hooker Avenue).
3. Continue on Hooker Avenue past Bartlett Park (on the left), past the American Red Cross (on the right), past Vassar Temple (on the left) to Ferris Lane.
4. Turn right on to Ferris Lane and proceed to the third right, which will be Bancroft Road.
5. The Library is two-tenths of a mile on the left.

From the North:

1. Proceed on Route 9 to Sharon Drive (Holiday Inn Express).
2. Turn left and proceed to the stop sign at Beechwood Avenue.
3. Turn left and proceed to the next stop sign. Go through the intersection to the next left and turn on to Bancroft Road.
4. The Library is two-tenths of a mile on the left.

From the West:

1. Proceed into Poughkeepsie by crossing the Franklin D. Roosevelt Mid-Hudson Bridge on US 44/55.
2. Proceed to the seventh traffic light (South Cherry Street) and turn right.
3. Proceed to Hooker Avenue and turn left.
4. At the next light, turn right on to Ferris Lane.
5. Take the third right on to Bancroft Road.
6. The Library is two-tenths of a mile on the left.

From the South:

1. Proceed on Route 9 to Sharon Drive (Holiday Inn Express).
2. Turn right and proceed to the stop sign at Beechwood Avenue.

From the East:

1. Proceed to Hooker Avenue.
2. Head towards the City Center to Ferris Lane. Turn left onto Ferris Lane.
3. Take the third right on to Bancroft Road.
4. The Library is two-tenths of a mile on the left.

Coming from the Red Oaks Mill area:

1. Proceed into Poughkeepsie on Route 376.
2. Do not veer right past Vassar College but proceed straight onto Hooker Avenue.
3. Then follow the directions above (From the East).

Arlington Branch Library

While the building that houses the Arlington Branch Library fronts Haight Avenue, the entrance is from the rear parking lot, accessible from Davis Avenue.

From the North:

1. Proceed south down US 9 to Church Street. Take the Church Street ramps from US 9 to Church Street (US 44/55).
2. Proceed through Poughkeepsie on US 44/55 (this arterial highway changes names three or so times as you pass through the City. After crossing Grand Avenue, you will enter the Town of Poughkeepsie (so indicated by a green sign). At the next intersection, turn right on Raymond Avenue (NY 376) and move to your left lane.
3. Take a quick left onto Davis Avenue roughly 50 feet after turning onto Raymond Avenue. After the turn, there is a large parking lot on the left. The Branch Library is located in the rear of the lot.

From the West:

3. Take a quick left onto Davis Avenue roughly 50 feet after turning onto Raymond Avenue. After the turn, there is a large parking lot on the left. The Branch Library is located in the rear of the lot.

From the East:

1. Proceed into Poughkeepsie along US 44 or US 55. These two highways merge on the east side of Poughkeepsie. Turn left onto Raymond Avenue (NY 376) at Holy Trinity Church and School.
2. Pass through two traffic lights.
3. After the second light, take a quick left onto Davis Avenue roughly 50 after turning onto Raymond Avenue. After the turn, there is a large parking lot on the left. The Branch Library is located in the rear of the lot.
