Online Databases

Find articles about business topics in web-based subscription databases available from the Poughkeepsie Public Library District. Many databases provide full-text articles online to read, print, download, or e-mail to yourself, friends and business partners.

You may access these databases in the Library or from home with a valid library card. If you live in the Mid-Hudson region, but not in Poughkeepsie, find your local library's Home page, and look for the 'Home Access' logo.

See our Business Information listings, which include the following databases and more:

Business and Company Resource Center: Provides information on companies, markets and industries, mergers and acquisitions, management theory, and more. Access business and trade journals, newspapers and company directory profiles with full text and images.

AtoZ Databases : The business database contains detailed information on more than 30 million U.S. businesses. The "Custom Search" feature allows you to search for company listings by Standard Industry Classification (SIC) code, ZIP code, area code, county, number of employees, and annual sales volume, among others. The residential database includes over 200,000 listings. (Remote use for CIty and Town of Poughkeepsie residents only; in-house use by anyone at either library branch with a 'guest database user barcode' )

Here are additional databases to search for general articles, including those specific to business issues with our Newspapers, Magazines & Journals listings.
