Poughkeepsie "Makes a Splash" with Summer Reading!

Congratulations to the kids of Poughkeepsie! They have been busy this summer “making a splash” in PPLD’s Summer Reading Program. A total of 4060 books were read by Poughkeepsie area children this summer! Great job! Certificates of participation will be available through September.

Adriance Closed Sundays in August; Sunday Hours Resume September 12

For the first time in several years, Adriance Memorial Library will not be open Sundays in August.  When Sunday hours resume on September 12, the Library will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the remainder of 2010.  Budget pressures may force the continuance of these reduced Sunday hours into 2011.

Save the Date: Friends' Holiday Sale Scheduled for November

Mark your calendar now for the Friends' annual Holiday Book Sale of gift-quality books and media, to be held November 19, 20 and 21 (Friday through Sunday) at Locust Grove (SFB Morse Estate) on Route 9, Poughkeepsie. For your holiday shopping, we'll offer a good selection of fiction and nonfiction, including children's books and oversize/coffee table books. Sale proceeds benefit the Poughkeepsie Public Library District.
