Friends Booksale Program

Volunteers Needed: Book knowledgeable volunteers and people who like to pack books are needed by the Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District to help sort and pack thousands of donated books, CDs, cassettes, videos, DVDs and other donated items for two large annual book sales. The Friends are dependent on the skills and dedication of volunteers to make these sales successful.

2010 Holiday Sale: Mark your calenders now for the Friends' annual Holiday Book Sale of gift-quality books and media, to beheld November 19, 20 and 21 (Friday through Sunday)at Locust Grove (SFB Morse Estate) on Route 9, Poughkeepsie. For your holiday shopping, we'lloffera good selection of fiction and nonfiction, including children's books and oversize/coffee table books. Sale proceeds benefit the Poughkeepsie Public Library District.

Donations: You can make donations of books, records, DVDs, videos, and CDs to the Friends by dropping them off, during normal business hours, at the Arlington Branch Library on Haight Avenue.

Donations may be made at Adriance Memorial Library but on a limited basis. Donations can be brought to the Noxon Street parking lot on the first and third Saturday of each month (so long as the Library is open) from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A custodian will be available to assist donors as the books will be put directly into the Library District's van for transport to the Friends' sorting facility on High Street.
