Teen Scene

teen computers

The Teen Room is a space for teens ages 13-18 to study, read, use computers and “rock out” with some of the latest video games on gaming days. Our Teen collection is housed here and covers some of the very best in Teen Fiction, Manga, Graphic Novels, Teen Magazines, AudioBooks on CD, Playaways, DVD and Video Games. We offer a diverse range of programming for teens, covering everything from cooking prep to college prep, with a host of other interesting options in between.

Teen Room Form

So how can teens ages 13-18 get in on the action? Just print a Teen Room Form or pick one up in the Teen or Children's Rooms on the second floor of Adriance. Teens must have a valid PPLD library card and a parent or legal guardian must sign the form before it is returned to the Youth Services Librarians in the Teen or Children's Room. See here for information on How to Get a Library Card. Teens must have their library card with them in order to enter the Teen Room.

gaming in the teen room

Challenge a friend to some friendly competition on the Wii or on the Xbox. Get into high gear with the Wii Fitness or try drums, guitar or just sing with Rock Band. Try out our new Kinect system! Get down and boogie with Dance Central or challenge yourself with Kinect Sport. Using the Kinect, dance with Michael and learn some of his steps with the dance program, “The Michael Jackson Experience." Check the Teen Programs & Events calendar for current gaming schedule.
